Povverchords is a group of friends from Brooklyn, New York, blending emo lyricism with the sonic colors of shoegaze, grunge and post-rock. (Think if My Bloody Valentine, Brand New, and The 1975 had a side project. Kinda.) After starting strong with the '80s-tinged single “Sad Eyes” in 2018 and the surf-rock banger “Afternoons” in 2020, Povverchords dropped the raw, unapologetic, pandemic era GARBAGE EP in Summer 2021. Their full-length debut LP, [sobbing], finally arrived in late 2022, a symphonic love letter to grief & a doomed relationship, co-produced by Andy Wildrick of The Junior Varsity and The Dear Hunter. Povverchords continues to perform memorable live shows, with their highly-anticipated sophomore album expected in mid-2025.
